Nyumbani means “At Home” in Kiswahili, and this is the feeling we would like to extend to our guests. Twelve self-contained apartments provide quality and comfort for couples, families and groups of friends, offering a perfect self-catering base for your Zanzibar holiday.
Located on the outskirts of Jambiani, Nyumbani Residence is situated in a great location with a three-minute walk to one of Zanzibar’s best beaches, which invites you to relax or explore. Take a long walk on the beach, discover Jambiani and the coastline up to the bustling village of Paje, or try your hand at a range of water sports activities offered nearby.

Each of Nyumbani’s apartments is fitted with a fully equipped kitchen which includes a fridge freezer, microwave, cooker, cooking utensils, plates, cutlery and more to ensure you can cook delicious meals from the comfort of your home.
A welcome basket containing coffee, tea and other essentials are provided upon your arrival. Once settled in, several shops nearby sell fresh and dried produce and friendly staff at Nyumbani will be happy to advise you on the best places to source anything you need.

“Exceptional” – December 2025
First of all, I want to thank Paola and her team for our fantastic vacation. Thanks to them, we felt right at home in this paradise. Now, about the location itself. There are 12 villa-apartments here. Some have one bedroom, some have two, which is convenient for families with children. The apartments are spacious and have a kitchen equipped with cooking utensils. There’s even a blender for smoothies, which is great because ripe fruit is sold here. The residence has several generators in case of power outages. The Wi-Fi is decent. There are two excellent swimming pools and plenty of sun loungers. Breakfast is good: scrambled eggs, pancakes, pastries, toast, fruit, tea, coffee. The beach is a 3-minute walk away, but you can only swim during high tide. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and we will definitely recommend this place!

“Peaceful holidays in Jambiani” – January 2026
Great, quiet residence close to the beach. The welcome was fabulous even with a late arrival; the security guard helped us carry our suitcases to our room. The staff is very kind and helpful.
The grounds are immaculate and very wooded. Both pools are perfect for young children as they have a shallow beach area, which is ideal!
Clean accommodation equipped with a kitchen and air conditioning in the bedroom. Quiet residence, no noise.

There is a very pleasant atmosphere in this magnificent place, tastefully decorated, where everything is done to make the customer feel comfortable. The owners, Paola and Daniel (an excellent cook), are charming, funny and truly welcoming. We loved it!

We had an amazing stay at Nyumbani Residence in Zanzibar! It’s absolutely perfect for families — spacious, clean, and incredibly comfortable. The fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare our own meals, and even though there’s no on-site restaurant for lunch or dinner, there are plenty of great restaurants just a short walk away.
The location is fantastic: only a few minutes from the beach, with two beautiful pools on the property. We also appreciated that they provide towels for both the pool and the beach — such a convenient touch.
A special thanks to Paola and her wonderful staff, who were always friendly, welcoming, and ready to help with anything we needed. Their hospitality truly made our stay memorable.
Highly recommend Nyumbani Residence for anyone visiting Zanzibar! 🌴✨
